The starting point of the SHARP project is media education, with special focus on video production, and the promotion of key skills from a lifelong education perspective (particularly, digital, interpersonal, intercultural, social and civic skills and cultural expression).
The project is divided into two macro-themes, which in turn are split into more specific themes to be developed by the partners in variable geometric forms based on multimedia methodologies, such as filming, processing and analysing video imagery:
- Collective culture(s) and identities
Collective memory and local transformation
Territorial cultures
Local identities and the European identity - Environment and territory:
Local permanence
Social and cultural innovation
The ISCSP team chose to work on collective culture(s) and identities, local identities and the European identity. They focused on the issues of digital citizenship and social marginality. The first line studies and works on digital identities and citizenship with university students from an educational perspective. The second involves teaching and awareness sessions on the problem of violence associated with stereotypes and prejudices among children and young people in excluded suburban communities.

Project progress
The European SHARP project meeting was held in Lisbon last October. The meeting was the fruit of a partnership between Instituto Superior de Ciências Sociais e Políticas (ISCSP-ULisboa) and AlmadaForma. Its aim was to test the Pedagogical Kit being produced by the consortium of institutions, which involved fieldwork and production of audiovisual materials, like the video that has just come out and can be viewed on the project website: http://www.sharpnetwork.eu/?q=node/553
