The Portuguese Order of Psychologists is the association that represents psychology professionals, created by Law 57/2008, on the 4th of September. The Order has its headquarters in Lisbon, with regional delegations on the north, center and south of the country. In 2012 a new delegation was inaugurated in Azores, followed by Madeira in 2013.

The elaboration of a White Paper on the future of the profession is part of the program of the Order put forward by the Board lead by Francisco Miranda Rodrigues, President of the Order since 30 December 2016. The document highlights the necessity of promoting the discussion among psychologists to "find and define new paths for the profession and to anticipate future skills".
